Safeguarding Policy

ACTS Centre, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for children, young people, adults at risk, volunteers, staff, and visitors. We recognise our responsibility to safeguard and protect all those in our care from harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and inappropriate behaviour. Our safeguarding procedures are designed to ensure that concerns are responded to promptly, appropriately, and in partnership with relevant statutory agencies. Our safeguarding policy reflects current legislation, safer recruitment practices, staff training requirements, reporting procedures, and good practice guidance for working with children and adults at risk. It also outlines the responsibilities of our leadership team, safeguarding coordinators, workers, and volunteers. This policy applies to all activities, events, ministries, and services delivered by ACTS Centre, including children's work, youth activities, pastoral support, community outreach, and overseas missions. For any safeguarding concerns, ACTS Centre has appointed designated safeguarding leads who can be contacted directly.

Please find our full Safeguarding Policy attached below for further information on our procedures, responsibilities, reporting processes, and commitment to protecting children, young people, and adults at risk.

Church History

ACTS Centre, (formerly Maidstone International Community Church) was founded to serve the diverse and growing local community, providing a vibrant, Spirit-led environment for worship and fellowship. The pioneering leaders felt called to serve not only the spiritual needs of the community but also to address the practical challenges people face every day. ACTS Centre continues to serve in our Sittingbourne community as a beacon of light for many, offering a supportive environment for believers to grow and reach out to others.

Our Wider UK Family

As part of Apostolic Church, UK (https://acuk.online), we share a rich Pentecostal heritage that was birthed in 1916 out of the Welsh revival of 1904. Today, the Apostolic Church is established in more than a hundred countries across the globe.

Our Vision

In ACTS Centre, our vision is to build a Christ-centred community that embraces people from every background, culture, and life stage. We believe the Church should be a place where individuals are not only welcomed but transformed, where faith is ignited, purpose is discovered, and lives are rebuilt

Our goal is to see people encounter Jesus, be equipped through the Word, and empowered to serve both inside and outside the church walls. We envision a vibrant, Spirit-led church where people grow in their spiritual walk and emerge as leaders, change-makers, and carriers of hope for families, neighbourhoods, and nations.
